To all those who know what alt.discuss is.
Dave is the one who made this possible, starting back in '97 with the "W" groups he opened 'for' subscribers then alt.discuss and the clubs.
He set up a voting process for us to vote in new groups as we chose.
The beauty of this is that it is firewalled from the spam in usenet. A small comunity of posters who all reside on the same service.
When he wrote the script for the club groups he asked our advice of what we wanted on various issues, the ONLY time of my 7 years on that service that Anyone from the company expressed concern with what WE the subscriber's Wanted.
I believe that Dave is the only one that really cared about our enjoyment on this service.
Thank you Dave for your contribution to this service, it has enhanced it 10 fold.
You are to be congratulated for a job well done.
Maybe one day Dave will take a break and have time
to put something on his homepage.
